Hello and welcome to The Finch Weekly the online resource for people who love birds.  My name is Angela Tempest and I’m the writer behind The Finch Weekly, along with help from my friends across the internet.  As a freelance writer, I enjoy writing about subjects I love and the top of the list is keeping birds.

According to my parents, I loved birds from a young age and always wanted to find a baby bird in our garden to look after.  As an adult, I always loved birds and when the chance came to build my own aviary in our garden, it was irresistible.

My husband Robert and my parents all love the birds and give me a hand to look after them.  I have a mixture of finches from Zebras and Bengalese to exotics such as the blue-capped waxbill as well as some British birds and canaries.  Eventually, I would love to get into Softbills, hence the section here dedicated to them.

Whether you are a seasoned birder or a complete novice, we hope you will find something useful and inspiring here at The Finch Weekly.
